Sikuki Nuuk Harbor A/S's result for 2016 was a loss of DKK 2 million after tax.
The annual report for 2016 was approved at the company's general meeting on 26 April 2017.
The company's third financial year shows a loss of DKK 2.9 million before tax and DKK 2.0 million after tax. In 2015, the result was a loss of DKK 2.5 million before tax and DKK 1.6 million after tax.
Apart from the effect of the new terminal being delayd, the economic performance is as expected. The Board of Directors finds the outcome satisfactory.
The Board was re-elected with Lars Karlsson as chairman.
In 2016, Sikuki has focused on the take-over of the existing port facilities and the introduction of user payment.
In addition, the company has been involved in project management and follow-up on the ongoing port expansion on Qeqertat. The construction of the new container terminal and associated buildings is delayed and the contractor will deliver in 2017. The project is expected to be completed within the original budget framework.
Changes, delays and challenges do not change that Greenland is well on its way to getting a future-proof and modern port that will help the entire country's infrastructure and development potential.
